taiwan!!! try the food! hey, jonathan, if you happen to be in taipei, there's this bubble tea shop at ximending called ding cha. it's awesome!! the bubble tea is very...refined.

and then, there's always the night markets. i think shilin is undergoing renovation or smth. go to raohe night market instead. (according to the locals) danshui has awesome scenery too!!

you're going to taipei??

haha no la its ok qiurong. so what's your first major? [cant rmb if you said it before.]

i'm going back on wed to collect dion's cert -.- haha.

i'll be moving into halls in 2 weeks time! omg so fast. maybe i'll have the chance to see jonathan marching around XD LOL.

oh i'll be in hall 15 [if anyone cares.] haha.

Miao Qin
9:16 PM

* * * * * * * * *

lol! the 'jap soldier sighting' thing... if all of that originated coz of real soldiers marching around in ntu it'll be really funny lor...

mq: i'm taking psych in 1st semester lar. can't be bothered to wait and see if the timing gets better, coz i'm considering psych as a 2nd major, so i'd rather get the basic module over and done with. thanks for the advice though :D

and abt the grad cert date... i dunno if u all actually went on the same day or not leh? coz i forgot to write the date when i signed, then when i went back later on w xx to collect her cert, the person randomly filled in yesterday's date beside my name lol...

QiuRong
4:42 PM

* * * * * * * * *

by any chance is anyone goign to collect his/her cert later???

Jonathan

Junting: Xinxue's going to read interactive media at ntu design. :)

loooooool at marching in ntu

Sara
11:59 PM

* * * * * * * * *

oh man means ntu can just get shot down anytime haha.

stupid ord-ed people! i'd take the rifle and charge at them HAHA.

Wei Xiang
4:26 PM

* * * * * * * * *

HAHA YES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH OUR RIFLES!

we marched past the halls area i think. then there was this group of students that kept shouting and waving at us too hahaha!

and i bet u didnt know that just behind ntu are many many live firing areas!

Jonathan
1:45 PM

* * * * * * * * *

INTO ntu?!?!?! how can a whole group of army soldiers march INTO ntu.

no wonder they keep reporting these ghostly 'japanese soldiers' sightings in the middle of the night in school.

Wei Xiang
11:56 AM

* * * * * * * * *

hahaha weixiang we can go there together!!! i just had a route march into ntu at midnight during part of my mission la LOL!

Hullo seniors, can I ask, if I um have um fifteen demerit points, can I clear them through library detention in the September holidays? Or will I have to do CS sooner or later? DDD:

Also KI seniors, we finally see the light (in the bright, effusing light of prelims). May we have access and etc to the KIpedia? (Better late than never!) We would be very grateful.

By the way, anyone know what Xinxue's doing now?

Jun Ting
11:20 PM

* * * * * * * * *

haha. i went to kong chain today to collect my cert and i realised that siobhan and waihong went today too! on the paper where i had to sign, i saw their signatures and today's date. hm.

eh qiurong, i'll bet if you take psych in the second term, you'll be able to get a better time slot than 6-8pm! >.< ahaha. i hope my ntu timetable wont be so bad /:

Miao Qin
8:42 PM

* * * * * * * * *

wah. 3 hours a week! lol...

i'm taking the psych module in 1st term lar. coz the tentative schedule for psych in 2nd term is still the same time slot. i dunno if maybe that's just to bluff students so they'll take psych in 1st term or what lor. haha..

QiuRong

oh cool, i foresee class outings to come, except that they won't be exactly celebratory =)

Wei Xiang
11:30 PM

* * * * * * * * *

Hmm don't you study different aspects of the law in different classes? I can take up to 20 hours a week or 5 heavy classes a sem but that's a bit too mug. that's how people finish a 4 year degree in 2.5 years!

and re sending off, that was SO the reason why I booked saturday afternoon :DDD but no pressure. lol

Sara
10:47 PM

* * * * * * * * *

haha junting - that was *almost* sweet. aw, my friends want to send me off! that was so not the reason why i booked a saturday night flight ;)

yes, 3 hours! at least that's what the kcl law page says. hahah. if i pack them all into monday morning, i could spend the rest of the week touring europe. maybe its because i'm taking only law, and you're taking 4 subjects, sara? then again - 3 hours of "contact time" MIGHT be another way to say you need 21 hours of library self-study a day. it *is* law, afterall. =\

Charmaine

HELLO WHO'S GOING TO SEND ME TO NTU ON MY FIRST DAY A FEW YEARS LATER DOWN THE ROAD HUH HUH HUH. I'M SCARED TOO OKAY BOON LAY'S SO NOT MY TERRITORY.

Wei Xiang
10:35 PM

* * * * * * * * *

hmm ntu hasnt informed me about my timetable yet..

qiurong, THIS is why i didnt want to go to nus. bidding sucks! especially psychology first term. everyone bids for that, and yes, the advice from nus lecturers is to bid in the second term where you can get good timings. but that also means you miss out on the advanced psych modules. depends on what you want!

i go to the sat centre gym on wednesdays. i can only hope that ntu gym will be as good as salt centre's because i'll be staying in halls!

Miao Qin
9:11 PM

Charm- 3 HOURS A WEEK?!?
omg. my courseload is almost as much as it was in JC, 4 subjects in 17 hours a week. O_O

haha, is this a good time to mention that I only have to attend 3 hours of school a week in King's? ;)
i dont think even NUS FASS students can beat that.

Charmaine
4:25 PM

* * * * * * * * *

eh. the grad certs... no deadline by which we hafta collect right?

oh ya. the psychology basic module lecture at nus got terrible timetable lor. it's like 6pm-8pm on mondays. i can't decide if i should wait till next semester to see if the timetable changes, or if i should take it this semester. coz nus says i can choose 2 basic modules for 1 bidding point each in semester 1, which means i can save up the points for other subjects... but i dunno if i should use it for psych or not. don't feel like staying in school until 8pm each monday. ><

i know, i was in school today too - then the email came >.< (Kong Chian Admin centre refers to the main admin block between the track and the street soccer court. Annexed to the artblock, if you will, but I doubt that's useful information ): )

about teachers being unchanging relics of our past - i asked Mr Lim once, if he felt... strange that his students should pass through so briefly, and if students were products of an institution or the institution the result of students. (Naturally) he gave a evasively charming smile and changed the subject.

and yes, I was pleasantly surprised by the toilets. no more demonic black-orange/yellow cells!

i don't feel like going back for the award ceremony. it feels... irrelevant.

Charmaine
10:40 PM

* * * * * * * * *

where's the kong chian admin centre? >.< should have read that email earlier, went to school today!! argh

Miao Qin
7:54 PM

* * * * * * * * *

Oh as I was walking towards Kong Chian, talking to my friend about how HC's changed so much in 6 months (hey the toilets are a BIG change), Mrs Chong appeared in front of me! So I waved frantically at her. She came and said hi, what are you doing here, when are you leaving for college, etc and shook my hand. (MP-style greeting, lol) She looks -exactly- the same, that's the strange thing I find about visiting teachers. They're like an unchanging relic of your past. (then again, its only been 8 months since the A's)

Then once I stepped into Kong Chian, I saw Mr Lim walking purposefully towards his office... He says he's doing well and the KI IS book will hopefully be published end of this year.

I feel old looking at the juniors.

Sara

* * * * * * * * *

I just collected my school cert. They RENOVATED THE CANTEEN TOILETS (unfaiirr) and installed glass walls / doors on the career counselling room. Now you can't hide inside to do your homework anymore, sad.

Will most certainly miss HC when I leave for Berkeley on August 23rd. ;__;

Hey is anyone else going to the US?

Sara

um.. my piano teacher is taking part in this piano recital thing, and i was wondering if anyone is interested to go? i'm planning to go, but i'd like to have someone to go with lol... see my lj for details can? thanks!

Sara, QiuRong:
Stikipad, the server on which KIpedia is stored, is moving data centers, so it will take some time before KIpedia returns online.

... yay, the zoo! I maintain that it is Singapore's premier tourist attraction, thanks to its "open" enclosures. When I visited the place in late May, I watched an otter back-flip from the shore (swim back and repeat, over and again), and Inuka the polar bear chomp on a frozen watermelon. It's great fun, watching the animals devote their lives to tiny joys. It makes you rethink your own misery and happiness. ^^

Hey Hey!! This is your grand-senior Daniel from 04S60! I'm thinking of organising a class outing to the zoo, and there's a 20% discount if there are 30 tickets or more purchased. I'm thinking if both our classes buy tickets, then we should be able to make the number. Maybe an outing in July? Let me know what you peeps think!! =) Maybe get the class rep to msg me?? =) My number is 91708081. Thank You!!
