A lot of foreign students stay there, and it's a pretty convenient location (unless you want to work in NUS.) it's about one block away from where i live, if you remember.And oh, lw wants to know if you'd like to be part of the "editors and moderators" grp for the kipedia. NUS scares the hell out of me. This isnt a university I'd like to study in. My bus passes by HC every morning, and I actually find myself thinking "what a pretty school it is". Sentimentality (?) does strange things to your aesthetic judgment.

$8/hour sounds nice, but my work is supremely boring, because all i'm doing now is logging research admissions and scholarship data. But the CVs are fun to read! this guy from IIT graduates top of IIT every year he's in there, has a grade point ave of 9.45 out of 10, 40+ published journals and 2 patents to his name, and NUS rejected him for a research fellowship programme! Oh, and there's also this Indian woman goes to Taiwan for university. how cool is that.
on a good day, i get time to read some of their PhD thesis papers too. The understandable ones are fascinating, but given my physic(al) and mathematical abilities, that means very few. But well, at least my job has perks.
Waitressing at a bar is much more fun, esp when you have tall, dark, handsome and foreign coworkers :D

Our blog is so cool cos it shows our transition to adult life with all those comparing jobs, paying adult fare, getting to know the world, asking abt hc(which all of us have been so out of touch with) haha! Actually, i feel like staying at the same age and not growing up anymore! Cos i think working is so boring compared to being a student! haha. And there is inflation to think abt too! I wish things would stop getting more and more expensive...we r just poor students surviving on temporary jobs...rahhhh!

mq- cause the job isnt boring and pays well. and once in a while when you see the student form a proper sentence and the look of pride on their faces...its quite gratifying haha. and yeah. they have so many physics classes they have to push some classes to apollo 0.0

charm - my job's REALLY EASY. it includes filing and data entry and photocopying and drafting letters for the company [the boss and his wife are really bad at language.the wife is apparently taking chinese/english lessons and she asked me to help her with her homework because she has no time to do!! o_O ]
so i guess oh well.. easy job, cheap pay. haha. but i like the people there.
oh and my sis is studying at the sch of design and envt, next to the engineering faculty! haha (: [your job pays so well. jealous.]
sio - how come they ask you to set exam questions! omg it's so strange. supposed to be done by perm staff what. think the staff are just lazy. good luck anyway.
pau - thanks haha. yea its really inconvenient but im lazy to look for a better job. anw the job's quite relaxing. lol. but i've to eat dinner alone after work everyday ):

sara- i'm a temp in the engineering faculty's research office! i'm actually being paid a graduate's pay (and i'm underqualified for the job), but hey, who's complaining :D I'm not sure what i'm supposed to do yet because my superior says my "real work" hasnt quite started. but the job description says i have to conduct menial research (read, digest and regurgitate journals, presumably), do data logging (??), and support the dept in some new project (administratively, i presume). And lots of sai kang (filing, shredding, handling admission files). I wish it were in the philo or law dept though!
oh, the dept is strange - they have an employment rule that doesnt allow male staff (except the professor, who's boss of them all). i think that's illegal, though.

ok. i got this job $6.50 per hour [lol to pauline :D] but it's freaking far from my home. at ubi techpark [bet you haven't even HEARD of it.] i have to take a bus to city hall then take train to eunos then take bus to the place, so prob $3-$4 travelling per day >.< ugh. pauline you're really lucky to have a temp job that pays so well and provides transport!

hello mq, i only get 1000 a mth cos i dont work in the city. if u work in the city, u would be paid more but u have to spend more on food and transport haha. my company provides bus to and from bukit batok, so i only spend like 67cents per trip, which is like the minimum adult fare alr haha. u may wanna try signing up with job agents or look into classified ads for jobs. oh ya but admin jobs are generally boring hahaha. if u wanna work in service line, try waitressing at big hotels, i hear tt they pay quite well haha. good luck looking for a job...the process is quite bleah! hahaha.

actually the grandjuniors figured that weix was faking. cause i asked them and they told me they overheard weix saying that he's entering ns to someone else LOL! damn dumb la! lousy crasher!
as for me, i faked as a retainee. the guys knew that i'm faking cause some know me. but the girls totally didnt know! and cause i might not be seeing them again for their orientation i revealed my identity at the end of today and teh girls were like stunned LOL! which means i'm a successful retainee! =D
anyway the class was rather great. they're definitely diff in a sense they are more chinese speaking than us. (we are half ki, they are mostly csc (i tihnk that's the short form) )

i'm leaving the country tmr - haha, it'll be my first time holidaying without parents! i *think* i'm excited. will be back on the 7th, but if you cant wait for me for the Sentosa outing, it's okay.
Anyway,I've suddenly gained a lot of hairspray after prom, and i sincerely hope you guys take it back! I actually brought them along to the xmas party, but forgot to return them!

1) grey gatsby hairwax, I believe to be Jon's.
2) Some yellow, studio hairspray. Looks female,or belonging to weix.

Happy new year! Am so glad that you guys are still so united together :)
Hope you guys still remember who i am hehe!! Anyw, orientation's coming up and you guys gotta crash orientation! In fact, you guys MUST crash, its a sixoh tradition! Finally, its your turn to fool around with your grandjuniors! I really had alot of fun crashing your class and i hope you guys can help to bond the new sixoh-ians too!
Its going to be different cause they wont really have a senior class but i guess there's still an unofficial 07S60 right! haha!
If you guys need any help or need any infor on what to do, please approach me (04S60!!) or junyi (02s60!!!!) hahaha! We should be down for the campfire too!

Reply from an already enlisted NS man: i am free on 5 jan and 6 jan sat sun but not the whole day so dun think can go sentosa which is too far. cos sat will only reach spore at arnd 1pm then sun need to be back at 7pm, so maybe meet u ppl arnd after all of u have shaved ur head.
