hm...i just realised that i have more visiting to do on 25th, which leaves me un-free for stj. i suggest that we hold it the following week, or the week after, in view that

1. there is lots of uncertainty as to who is going and who is not, and such uncertainty is not going to be resolved over the internet (because of its informal nature).
2. there are too many people who are not notified of messages posted on this blog (because of the internet's opt-in-opt-out nature)

--> we need to get back to school and ASK people if they are free (lest they complain we are being dictatorial and unconsultative)

3. but bookings for such a large crowd must be done in advance (>4 days?), and we need time to ASK and finalise details.

--> as such, it might be too rushed to hold it on this sunday.

Yes, let's have STJ soon, before the the evil admin disturbs the force of 07S60 (though i'm not saying it WILL, and I'll certainly use all my special jedi mind tricks to stop them). But not on the 24th of february, because that's the Post Production Party day (dfeste), so Weixiang, Gaby, Seng and I won't be free on that day. (and that's a whole lot of us!)

anyway, chen: i have an idea! i know of a place where there's relatively cheap and (should be) good dimsum! it's The Teahouse at Chinatown square or sth liddat. belonging to the same group of restaurants as Imperial Treasure. btw how much does the Goodwood Park Hotel buffet cost? the last time i went to Goodwood Park Hotel the buffet spread looked quite good! I tasted some of the stuff at Grand Hyatt before too, i think it should be very good (IF they have a high tea buffet there, that is).

but the high teas i've gone to (like Charm has said) cost over $30 bucks and they usually do come with a 3-tiered glistening serving plate and pianist in tow.

am i rite to say that half of you have not gone for high tea before?

basically the high tea i am talking about is NOT the traditional english version (earl grey tea + pastries in three-tiered-plate on a couch beside a pianist)

i am talking about hotel/restaurant(?) buffets which arent really savvy and apart from the menu, which has more timsum and finger food and pastries (usually) and less everything else, are indistinguishable from dinner buffets.

of cos...cost is going to be a problem. i'll see how jts goes and decide on a reasonable place. we wont go to somewhere really fancy lah (think melt the world cafe or brasserie tatler) but there are numerous in betweens.

that is, if we are agreeable on high tea, which, btw, is only available on weekends/public holidays with the exception of goodwood park hotel.

as for JTS, is it confirmed on Sat night? what time is it from and till? zi chong and i most prob be unable to go. but if prizegiving ceremony ends early we MAY be able to reach there, earliest around 8pm? if we can go we'll sms one of you on that day la. aiyah sad.

lolz no la jonathan, my team packed tons and tons of food (ba zhang, curry puffs, bread, roasted peanuts, prawn crackers, mandarin oranges, dried sour plums) onto the boat, and after the race, the organisers give us lots of deep friend food (sinful! but a delight to us hungry souls in search of comfort food after tough sailing).

There's not much water on the boat, but got lots of beer. lolz.

high tea/lunch is preferable for the simple reason that you have to pay for space at a prime time during dinner, which needless to say, does not come cheap. got peak load pricing and a whole load of other crap.

you decide lor. whether u want prime time and pathetic food or un-prime time and nicer food.
